Are there any other engine managment tools for the 04 WRX?
I currently have a Utec which I can at this point do without. I had it professionally tuned and it is still knocking. I know that it is a user tunable ECU and to get rid of knock I need to tune it out.
I basically bought the wrong product. I want a set it and forget it type of engine managment for my 04 but I do not know what is out there. I have a TXS stage 2 with up-pipe & Utec.
Does anyone know of any engine managment product that is set it and forget it? I basically dont want to knock and I was told that my Utec is aggresivly tuned so I will get knock due to boost, weather, gas etc. I also know that you guys would like to see a log but I have not gotten around to learning how to tune the Utec myself, basically i do not have the time with work and all.
I am in the process of getting gauges also.
Basically I like the Utec but see no point in having something I will not use on a reg basis. I want to add mods and I know a reflash system I will have to re-flash everytime I add mods. Does anyone know if the Unichip will work in my 04 WRX?
Like I said I have a stage 2 with up-pipe and I am thinking about a diff engine managment tool and or a MBC plus a bigger top mount for my car.
Can someone please give me some guidance and imput I would appreciate it.
thanks
Jay

If you tune the UTEC properly it will not be knocking. It can be set and forget. It just has to be set properly.
This happened to me with a Unichip tune. As soon as I told the tuner I was knocking, he was happy to do what he could to fix my problem without additional charge.
As someone who has gone from a Unichip to a UTEC. I can safely say that you have the better and more flexible of those two options. You don't want a Unichip.

This is why they are going to keep tuning it and dyno'ing it till they get the knock out. You are right it is unecceptable but with all the sh*t going on with the 04 Utec and car it just takes a little more time.
