suspension questions from newb
hey i got a 2005 wrx and i was wondering how i can make it a little i higher...it came with the green tein springs and its pretty low right now and i go snowboarding often so i was hoping to put some bigger tires on my bbs 17shttp://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/5/web/3017000-3017999/3017533_1_full.jpg
Go higher? You don't hear that often. You might want to consider swapping out the lowering springs so that you have a taller spring. Maybe something like an Eibach Pro kit. I believe that kit is the taller of the two (the other option that they offer is the Sportline Kit). It will still lower the car some, but will be higher than the Tein that you have on there. At least I am pretty sure they will be.
Otherwise you could go with Endura-Tech coilovers ( I am bias
). This way you will have the option of setting up the height to what ever you like, lower in the summer season and raise it some for the winter months when you head up to the mountains for snowboarding.
From stock height, you could go as low as two to three more inches or go up from stock another 3/4" in front and 1" rear. Plus you get the damper adjustability. Of course this is a higher cost than just getting a different set of lower springs that don't drop as much.
I suggest comparing the heights of the springs that are available for the 05 WRX. That is compare the Tein springs to Eibach Pro Kit to H&R to Swift etc. to see the amount of drop.
I noticed that you had a second thread of the same title. RCE has a good point and highly regarded.
Cheers!
