Stiffest Springs?

Who makes the stiffest springs for MY04 WRX? No $$$ for a coilover set.

The stiffest you can go on stock struts are STi pink springs. You can put Ground Control sleeves of any height/spring rate you want on for $399, but you'll blow struts like they're going out of style. It's a system that has to work together, so if you can't afford stiffer struts (i.e. coilovers, which allow you to go as stiff as you want provided you get dampers to match) you can't go too stiff with springs.

I'm planning to match the springs with some AGXs.

The usual suspects then: Whiteline controls, Eibach ProKit, Prodrives, STi pinks, etc. Not over 250 lb./in. and not more than an inch drop.

Does anyone know the spring rates of the Whitelines and Prodrives?

www.ravensblade-impreza.com has a tech document that lists a bunch of common springs and their rates.

Do you think the Ground Control coilover sleeves with some firm spring rates would blow out a beefier strut like a JDM STi Ver.8?

i'd most def. bet on it.
best bet for you might be sell your 'jdm' suspension, and use the money for an adjustable setup (ie agx, koni, tokico, etc"

Michael, you think AGX's are stronger than the factory STi pink struts? I don't think so. The piston on the AGX's is puny. So if they can take the GC coilovers, I don't see how the Ver.8 wouldn't be able to.

So far my 04 STi struts are running fine on GC coilovers and 300lb springs all around. We have setup two cars this way so far.

Does it ride pretty smooth? How low did you drop the car? Also you use the stock tophats with the GC coilovers right? Thanks!

It is OK, A little rough on bad sections of road. Tires also help, the stiff walled Azenis made it ride fairly rough, the nice cushy Toyo RA1's have a soft sidewall and the car rides real nice on those. Yes, you reuse the stock tophats. I am fairly low, there are pics available at my site. See Sig.
