STi Brake Shim order

Hello Folks,

Did a search and can not find a answer to the following.

On the 04 STi front brakes there are 2 shims on each caliper.

When installing new pads are these two shims supposed to be used.

I was not paying attention to these and once I took the calipers and pins off these fell out with the pads.

The angle cut shims have a arrow cut in them should this face toward the front of the car.

Are the shims placed on the inside pads or the outside pads.

Thanks for the help,

Learnt to pay closer attention next time.

Lew

I have almost the same problem.

The shims go on the back of the pad and are contacted by the pistons. But on my 05 there are 4 not 2/caliper

what is the order and ther orientaion - there are arrows on 2 - whre do they point?

I have just been told that if you have the shims with the arrows cut in them that the arrows should point up
