Rotors

I have just toasted my brembos. Rotors are warped, pads are gone. I bought some Forodo race pads, now I am looking for rotors. I am toren between the Brembo slotted rotors and the Stoptech slotted.

Any Comparison Info? A dealer told me that the Stoptech are made from different compounds which exchanges heat more efficiently, Is this true?

Any feedback?

Thanks,

John

Stoptech's are engineered better than Brembos are. As far as replacing goes, we have Brembo brakes, I would go with Brembo rotor’s, they're built to for each other. As far as the Stoptech rotars dispersing heat better, there is more to their design of the calipers that helps with heat dissipation. I know of people who have had good luck w/ the stock Brembo brakes w/ Project Mu rotors, pads and SS lines.

Stoptech will soon offer their nice 2pc. rotors for the STi Brembo application.

I won't shell out money for Brembo rotors unless they're 2pc, and I haven't seen anyone using them.

Prodrive makes expensive 2pc. rotors too.

I'd trust Project Mu stuff as well.

Since when? Last I heard is that the development costs were too high. They were looking at having to sell the rotors for $2K+ (for all four). This would be welcome news if they are going ahead with it.

For the original poster, Stoptech does make a one piece rotor as an OEM replacement for the STi. Not cheap either and there is almost no weight savings over stock. Two piece is really the way to go, but right now your choices are very limited and expensive.

Wish I had seen that before I went out and ordered my rotors.

I decided to go with Brembo Slotted and Ferodo 2500 Series.

My only issue right now is, am I going make the effort to replace the lines and fluid. I think that it is the lines and fluid are going to wait till after the JGTC. If I get motivated I will knock it all out.

Thanks for the advice/suggestions.
