Talking Rear dif' bushing quick fix?

I read a post on NOSACK the other day on how you can simply rotate your stock rear dif' bushings 90 degrees. Apparently gets rid of most of the 'clunk'..not as good as poly' obviously but better than stock. Anyone try this? I just got back from the Doctor and found out I am alergic to NVH!! Yep... strange but true...lol so no POLY for me

you know I believe it was 45.lol. Though it was a misprint...45 is not much. Does 90 sound more logical as the hollow side would be moved outward? Either way it's a cheap way to kill some of the KLUNK if it indeed works. ChimChim sounds familiar....suspension thread somewhere right?

It's currently horizontal with the hollows pointed vertical. That means it's fully resisting horizontal movement.

If you turn it 90, you'll only address vertical and not the horizontal.

At 45, it will address both (and hopefully resist the rotational torque of the diff).

That's the theory anyways. If I was to try it I'd make sure to do 45, like this / \ and not \ /. (yeah, I participate in suspension form at NASIOC)

BTW, I went to the track recently and discovered with good shifting technique, I did not experience the clunk. So check your shifting technique first.

that theory crossed my mind and makes ton of sense.... We even thought of injecting industrial silicone or hard rubber into the hollow spaces. lol....could work. shifting technique?smooooooth toe and heel FTW. I can't abuse my gearbox anyway as its maybe a good protune and a couple hard downshifts away from going BYE BYE to Transmision Heaven...
