Question ponder this about drum brakes

Drum brakes are a good idea because the linings cover such a large surface area . Their major set back is that they get so hot . What if there was a way to use drum brakes and get rid of the heat at the same time. Maybe a vacum to get rid of hot air or liquid running through some parts?

Keep in mind that I do not intend on doing any of this, But its a fun topic to think about. Anyone else have other ideas, or an idea of how to use vacum/liquid?

Drum brakes suck. There is a good reason they are being phased out. It si hard to do abs with them. They are good for parking brakes, matter of fact, the wrx uses small drum brakes inside the rear rotors as the ebrake/parking brake I beleive.

Wow, how the heck does that work? They actually have shoes inside the rotors? I don't know about sacraficing a vented rotor just to put shoes in for a parking brake, unless it is only towards the center of the wheel, strange. I have never heard of this.

The rears aren't vented because they don't need toe be, not because they can't be.

The shoes are inside the center hub of the rotor as far as I know.

JDM WRX has vented rear rotors.

Formula one has drum looking brakes, right?
If it is a drum, then it proves that drums can be a performance brakes.
I'm not sure if Formula one is disc or drum though, looks like drum for sure.

Drums brakes are inferior.
1)capable of absorbing more kinetic energy per period of time
2)disks can be visually inspected
3)cool off faster
-1)disks are more expensive
