pad reccomendations for Subaru 4-pots

okay, i've got a set of Subaru 4-pots on order, and they should be here sometime late next week. however, i haven't decided on a set of pads yet.

right now, i'm running Carbotech bobcats on the front of my '03 WRX, largely because they're the only pad that fits the new clip design of the '03.

i know that the following pads are available for the Subaru 4-pots:

Carbotech Bobcats/Panther +/Panther XP

Ferodo DS2500/DS3000

Axxis Ultimates

Porterfield ?

does anyone actually running the Subaru 4-pots have any input here? i've been burning up the Bobcats that i have on the car right now pretty badly, so i'm not particularly inclined to buy a new set for the Subaru 4-pots. i need something that won't burn up easily under hard driving, pad/rotor wear, noise and dust are lesser concerns at this point.

Bobcats or FD2500's are the 2 at the top of my list for a fast street pad.
I've had the Bobcats in my 4-pots for ~10k miles and like them...I haven't checked their wear, but I should...I have slotted rotors and they eat pads

I'm still running the original OEM pads in mine. I have 2 thunder Hill track days on them. I never faded the pads- although the fluid went south after the second trip. They squeak occasionally on the street, and dusted ike crazy for the first few months, now not so bad. Initial bite is good too. Not much wear yet either. I think they are worth the $108 I could have saved by going without them when I ordered the calipers.

That being said, I think I'm going to replace them anyway when I finish my turbo motor. I think I'm going to go with Ferodo 2500s. When I worked with Shiv, they were the only brake pads I never saw him fade. He's used Carbotechs, Axxis Ultimates, Hawks... Ferodo 2500s were the only ones that lasted a decent length of time and didn't fade. "His car" being the 11 second Evo that he drives like a demon 80% of the time.

i just got a price quote on a set of Ferodos, and it looks like it'd be almost $300 for the set (fronts and rears). i'm not adverse to spending that much on pads if they're good, but its certainly more than even the Carbotechs, which seem to be some of the more expensive pads out there.

It's a Subaru... you get what you pay for in the aftermarket.

you certainly do get what you pay for, i was just suprised to see that the Ferodos were more expensive than a lot of the other "quality" pads out there. right now i'm leaning to the DS2500s.

i've run CP911s on an R1, and they're killer. the brake fade on those things is nonexistant, but the CP911s have a feel that is just mind blowing. i have no doubt that they are quality pads, i just want to make sure they're going to meet my needs.
