Are new struts/camber inevitable with springs?

I have a 2002 WRX sedan and am in the market for upgraded wheels/tires and possibly new springs to eliminate the unsightly wheel gap. I am weighing on 18x7.5 wheels with 225/40 tires. I am assuming these will fit.
In addition, If I did use this setup with new lowering springs, and all other suspension components stock, will I have to buy new cambers/struts down the road?
I've heard a few horror stories of struts thrashed before from new springs. thanks for the help.

lowering your car with only springs causes extra stress on the stock struts because they aren't the correct length. springs will cause your struts to prematurely wear out.

I've had my Tein High Techs for about a year and I drive pretty hard, not to mention on the bumpy streets of San Francisco. I can feel how they've degraded
I as going to get new struts... but I think I'll just ride it out (pun intended
) and save up for a whole new coilover set.
