Let us know what your primary use for your car is - commuting, commuting with some HPDE track days, or a lot of track days.

For mainly daily drivers, I like and use Hawk HPS pads. I have used Axxis Ultimates and the braking characteristics are good on the street but they dust a lot more than stock or Hawk HPS. The Ultimates are the cheapest street pads you'll find, with the Hawk HPS about $20 or $30 more, I think.

I didn't want to spend over $100 for pure daily driving. If I need more pad than this for track days, I will buy some dedicated track pads.

The road course track days are where you'll need to be on the brakes more than anything else. I've seen people recommend everything from Hawk, Axxis, Carbotech, and Porterfield pads, in both street and race compounds. The race pads always cost more, are sometimes noisier, and may eat front rotors at a faster rate than street pads from the same manufacturer.

If you were using stock pads at track days previously, any of the above street pads should work fine until you have modded the car's power enough to be pulling some higher mph at the end of the straights. At that point, it might be wise to step up to dedicated track pads and swap them for track days.

If you haven't already done so, the typical first mods for front brakes along with pads are stainless braided lines and Motul RBF 600 synthetic fluid (higher boiling point).

You should definitely consider the Ferodo DS2500's as well. They offer quite a bit of bite and are fine for the daily driver/occasional track star

I have Hawk pads right now. When I did the track day I think I was still running on stock pads though (or maybe I had put in the Hawks by then) but for Rally-x as long as it has a good amount of initial grab you'll be good

check out the DirtyImpreza website I posted in one of your other threads for more tips on what to use for Rally-X
