Help... those who have installed springs

I just purchased some H&R springs for my 03 WRX and will be installing them within a few days. The springs have coils on one end that are really close, as opposed to the opposite end of the spring where the coils are spaced further apart.

MY question is do the closer spaced coils go on top, or on bottom?

Any other helpful tips would be appreciated!

to answer your question: when put my eibachs on it was pretty obvious which way was up once you get the old spring and shock out from under the car. the old spring and the new spring look the same the new one is just shorter or has different spring rates or both.
so just take everything apart and compare, put the new one on the way the old one came off
