>At low speed over what looks like flat road it will bounce repeatedly - undamped oscillations.
Are you sure it's not just the road surface? I get something similar but it's only over the same small section of road. I wouldn't call mine undampened though. Your struts aren't leaking or anything are they?

I'm not leaking anything that I can see at a glance. I'll take a good close look later on when I pull the struts off off to put new hats on.
Maybe undamped is a bit of an exageration. It does die away, but it bounces several times before fading. I don't think I have a strut problem, unless there's different valving for small motions then for the big ones. The struts handle actual bumps just fine (even really big speed bumps) - one good kick in the butt followed by a quick recovery and no bouncing. It's small waves in the road that you can barely see that make the damn thing bounce like a covered wagon. When it happens it's a small motion (maybe an inch or two), but it bounces several times before fading away - very annoying.

I got my set over the summer from Mike @ SPD, and I'm sure he still carries them - just that you have to get the whole set, not just the springs. The struts I got was the STi red strut (OEM ones that came on the GC style STi), with gray springs.
As for the bounces on what seems to be a flat road, I'm thinking it's the road - after all, this setup reflects all the little bumps from the road. And unless you know what the hell goes on when tuning suspension, the "just get coilover" statement really doesn't tell the whole truth - I mean, these are engineered by Prodrive, and if you have the skills to tune a suspension to perform better, more power to you. Me being a guy that knows squat about suspension tuning, would just be happy with this setup.

Just a quick update for anybody interested. I switched to the Falcon Azenis and bumped up the pressure a bit and things improved some. It's a little harsher now, but it doesn't oscillate as much on small waves in the road. I think it would be even better on low-profile 17" tires and with STi strut tops. I'll either have to get used to it or sell it and get a softer setup for my sensitive back side.
I do love the way it handles and the balance is great.
Thanks for the feed back guys (especially Peaty).
