Coilovers
A set of quality springs & a nice set of struts will ride much better than any coilovers & handle nearly as well. Most who have coilovers don't need them.
FYI, Crucial Racing is having a sell on their springs currently...

If you must have coilovers, I would go with Whiteline G4's. I rode in an 02 wrx, 18in wheels and the G4's on a bumpy road. The ride felt better than stock
Handled great too.

Then when the struts get worn out (this will vary but think 30K-60K miles), replace them with some better ones.
