Haven't been able to to find a single post on i-club, nasioc, or ClubWRX about "agx failure", "agx broken", "agx blown" using Search. There are some posts about the adjusters breaking or bending secondary to accidental curb contact. I must be bad at Search.

On the AGX's they CAN handle a 2" drop as long as your springs are stiff enough or are progressive enough to stop them from bottoming out really hard.
The problem with the stock wrx suspension or any components made to factory lengths ( struts for instance ) is that the factory never intended the car to be much lower than it is, so the compression travel is rather short ( about 3.6 inches if I remember correctly )
So what that means to you is , if you run the car low , without doing a custom insert/housing to give you more travel , or camber plates etc you will bottom out the car enough to blow your struts.
Most struts will not blow because of bottoming once, its repeated abuse that causes it.
Now, the AGX is a good strut, if you are going to drop it get some springs that will either be tall enough to not have a bottoming issue ( I wouldnt do more than about 1.75 ~ish ) or get a true coilover setup , OR get some custom housings made with koni's in them and do a coilover that way.
I will jump back in w some more info later if you would like, feel free to ask away
have a good one.

getting off track
I am not looking tro drop the car that much. I live in michigan so if i lower it too much the car will get killed by the snow. I am not looking to go more than 1.5" or around that area. I want springs that are gonig to make the car look level. So what springs are gonna do that, without having to replace the struts?
Thanks for all your reply's tho.

i dont know of any springs that will make the car level.
1)Springs always lower a tad bit more in the front compared to the back.
2)Some lower the same front and back, for example sprint springs lower 1.8 all around
3)Tein springs lower 2 up front and 0.7 in the back.
i use eibachs with 1.3 in the front and 1 in the back. After settling down, the springs lower about 1.5 in the front. Still a noticable gap in the front, but not as bad

i feel a lot safer that the company says that their stuff is designed to work with stock struts. i don't have money to but new ones.
"The spring rate and progression has been designed to work with stock Subaru strut assembly." -perrin.

I talked to them recently. They say AGX is fine for this set up and that they have no complaints of any customers blowing AGX with the Perrins. Combined with not being able to find a single post on I-club, Nasoic, and CubWRX forums; I must conclude that the sky is not falling and any suggestion that AGX will fail on Perrins is based upon Forum members speculation based on the generic handout in every application of AGX sold stating 1.5 and below is reason for KYB to void. In other words, nothing to fear.

BTW, the Perrins with AGX on#1 is more comfortable than stock while the handling is 100% tighter. The only other suspension mod on my vehicle is Kartboy low compliance endlinks.
i had perrin spring + agx setup for a short period of time, and it was a great set up if you are on a budget (switch to coilovers after ;D). the rides are a bit harsh i thought compared to stock (maybe because i had them set at #2), but it is definetly more sporty looking and handels decent.
one problem i had with the spring and strut setup was that the car was too low to go snowboarding if it snowed a lot. aside from that i think it is a good setup

I found a picture of a RS with Prodrive springs and it looks pretty even @ https://www.i-club.com/forums/showth...5&pagenumber=2 . Prodrive parts are expensive (its what they use on the WRC car) but it looks like what your looking for. It sounds like they would work good with stock struts also. Read all of the comments on that thread and it should answer most of your questions about those springs.
