The rear brake line rotted on my wagon. I can disconnect at the flexible hose at the caliper but I can't find the next junction. Has anyone ever replaced one? Does it run inside the car? Which side?

 

That is some good info. However, not what I am looking for. After the brake lines leave that junction they run up ontop of the gas tank and over the rear crossmember. What a pain in the ***! I guess Subaru gave no thought to them rotting out someday and them needing to be replaced.

Anyway, I figured out how they run and will now reroute the rear lines.

I was talking about the hard lines. On my car they are steel, well, were steel. Now they are rust.

The lines run inside the car until they arrive under the rear seat. From there they exit to the underside of the car. There is a junction as soon as they exit the car. I bought 3 pieces of replacement lines and a junction. I could not run in the same spot as the factory lines due to the fact that they run on top of the gas tank. I just re-routed them behind the rear crossmember and was done with it.

Good as new.

i had the same problem with my hard lines rusting out, right as they come out from under the seat. the worst part was getting all the lines bent right without crimping them, but otherwise it was pretty cheap and easy work.
