Question 05' Sti pads

I need to have my front pads replaced on my 05' sti. I have around 40k miles on the car. The problem is I can only seem to get brake pads for the brembos from subaru and they charge $300 for the front two. Is there other pads that can be used that would be less expensive or no? If so, which ones do you guys recommend? Thanks.

You might try Carbotech Bobcat replacement pads for STi Brembo calipers. SubyDude and other vendors carry them. This is a street pad, not suitable for extended track sessions. For track use, Carbotech makes other pad formulations.

EBC red stuff.... $120 from alloemcarparts.com

no noise, good performance. I like to destroy front pads in short time though... but YMMV if you've gotten 40k out of your stockkers... (mine lasted 18k)
