WRX information needed please!

It's time for my GF to look at new cars and the WRX is one we are both ineterested in. Of course the STi would be great but with higher cost and higher insurance rates I don't think she will go that route. We stopped by the dealer quickly last night and took out a WRX 5 speed. Fun car but I was curious what are some of the must have upgrades? She definitely wants the ultimate package with the heated seats and sunroof but I see online that you can add STi parts. Are they worth it? Do they add gains? Specifically the bigger hood scoop and exhaust. What about the stereo upgrades, are they worth it? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Also, what can she expect to pay (roughly) for this car. I see some people getting the WRX's for under 25k. How are you all doing this? If we build the car she wants online it's 27 otd. The most expensive upgrade she wants is the cold weather package. We are in Central Jersey if anyone knows of a good dealer.
Thanks!!

Well, nobody here is going to tell you not to buy a WRX.
I love it as an all-around car that does everything well. As for the add-ons, I wouldn't get them at the dealer simply because they are overpriced. Also, look around at online car buying/research sites and get the invoice price for hte model with the options you want. You should be able to get it for pretty close to that, plus TT&L. As for getting dealer recommendations, try posting your questions (and reading older threads) int he Tri-State forum. Good luck!

sti parts are great, but they're pricey. there are loads and loads of aftermarket stuff for wrx these days that are just as good or better than sti. i would just get it stock and add parts later.
as for the cold weather package, i think it's worth the money if you park your car outside and is subject to snow. i don't have one, but i occasionally wish i have heated mirrors. heated seats really don't help that much when it's 20 below outside and the rest of your car is an igloo and you're wearing 3 layers of clothing
