I saw an ad for a used 2004 Impreza WRX sedan with 7,400 miles on it. The guy who traded it in bought an Evolution. This car has:
The out the door price is $22,418.74. Is this a good deal?
- WR Blue Pearl paint
- five-speed transmission
- a spoiler
- boost gauge
- Tinted Windows
- Pro Drive Full Exhaust
- after market air intake
- front strut brace
- extended armrest

If you are going to spend $22k for a car, you should just save up a little more money and buy a new one. You dont know what the previous owner could have done with it, just my 2 cents. Back to the subject, 5spd manual, spoiler, boostgauge, and extended armrest are all factory equipment and you can get a new one with all of that equipment for probably around $25k out the door with enough bargaining. Depending on the brand of the strut and the intake you should also consider(they could be generic brand, or like cusco and injen) the tinted windows you can get for about $100 w/lifetime warranty. And you have to ask if the prodrive exhaust is turboback or catback. You could also probably get the price lower with a little bargaining.
For that money, it seems many folks out here got to choose their car off the showroom floor, and not have to settle for a used car!
Although, for $22.5, I'll sell you my '04 WRX

I would spend a little bit more and get a new one. That way you know where it's been.
Seems to be quite a few miles too on that used '04. I just turned 4,800 on my '03.

My '04 that I picked up new in August '03 has 8200 miles already

I got an email quote from a dealer in New Jersey for a new '04 WRX for $22,800. That is without the $750 cash back which expires tommorrow and without any further negotiation. So it is $22,050 net. Maybe it was a little less expensive because it was a wagon.

Have you checked Autotrader or cars.com? I could've sworn I saw an STI going for 26K, but that was a while back. I think the bottom line is that is too much for a used 2004...mileage is reasonable since the average person drives 15k miles in a year and the 2004 was released last summer. Good idea to pass...
