Wife may buy an 04 RS

Here is the deal, currently has a 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T Wolfsburg edition, on a lease with a ton of negative equity. Want to keep monthly payments the same. Do you all think she will be ok going to an NA vehicle? She has ruled out the 02-03 body style for personal preference reasons. Opinions are defintely welcome.

Hahaha, I thought a little voice in my head was speaking to me when I read your post. My girl just traded in her 02 1.8T for a 2.5TS wagon. Her jetta was a lemon, service 17 times in under 2 years, towed in 3 times for ignition coil problems, 4 stereos and host of other problems. She too had a ton of equity but she got the car no problem and payments went down one whole dollar! Advantages now is she's financing and she has peice of mind (mechanicaly) and a wagon for the extra stuff.

The RS is a solid car for daily driving. There are even some tuning posibilities, but I have a feeling that is not really an issue.

I'd say go for it. It has slightly more power then its competitors, and AWD.

The RS is a good car for the money. All the benefits of Subaru's AWD, but with a torquey 2.5 NA engine instead of the peakier turbo 2.0 liter WRX. Insurance should be cheaper, too.

Nothing wrong with an RS. As long as you don't expect it to be the fastest car out there it should serve anyone just fine.

I think the 2.5 RS is a very nice car. Should give you a lot less trouble than her Jetta.
