Car Info: Ver IV STi Wagon
Unless it can be found that the modification directly effected something going wrong with the car, modifications should not automatically void warranty.
Others here may be able to provide more info and examplees. Some dealerships will look the other way on mods, others will stick it to you.

there's no definite list, as warranty claims are each unique. that having been said, I'll also say this, if you go in with a claim having something to do with your transmission, and you've made some suspension modifications, it's not unheard of for them to deny the claim and try to say that you abuse your car and are a "racer" regardless of whether or not it's true, and when this is done it's extremely difficult to get even a legitimate claim without going to court.

Im not sure of your location, but when I bought mine I was told that as long as they put it on then the would warranty parts for one year. He said they parts dept could get most any part and they have an onsite dyno if desired as well. Seemed pretty cool to me.

I am taking it back to the dealer cause my second gear is a little wonky! i am the second owner. How do I know if warranty will apply to the problem. The car only has 16k kms. The second gear sounds like it's grinding and stuff. werid.

What about those performance parts that offter by SOA?or refer as SPT. Can they claime you abuse the car and deny the warrenty service when you have their parts installed?Let's just assume you order the parts and install them at the dealership.
