I can't speak for others, but my 02 WRX has been covered for plenty of warranty work including a fuel filter body, radiator fan belt, rear differential, some transmission internals and a torn CV boot -- all replaced at zero cost and the dealer even picks up the rental car cost. The car is heavily modified (kind of hard to hide the strut bars, sway bar and 3" turboback) and the dealer and SOA tech that drove the car before the transmission service never even blinked. All told, SOA has authorized five warranty repairs and two recall repairs for my vehicle with zero problems.
