Warranty Denied

Got an '06 wagon and thinkin' about puttin' on a Borla Hush catback...

...this won't void my warranty now will it?? I know that the dealer and SOA can pretty much do whatever it is they please but they gotta prove that the catback exhaust caused whatever problem (hopefully none...knock on wood) I later decide to claim right??

Keep your stock exhaust and a spare gasket.
If you need to go in for warranty claim work, swap it out with the stocker.

Some dealers are mod friendly and some are mod *****...

dealers can really easily deny claims based on abusive driving, and mods on the car are great ways to back up their views. like said above, keep the stock stuff around, so if you really need warranty, you can swap it back...on basically everything.

A catback should never void your warranty. You're not changing any of the smog items (cats) and it gives a minimal power gain. Hard to imagine how 8 extra hp would cause any sort of damage.

modifications that dont actually change the intended make up of the car won't deny your warranty such as an intake, exhaust. But when you change the ecu, turbo then your on your own.

A cat-back does not have a catalytic converter because it is after all the cats. Since it does not modify the cats or other emission components there shouldn't be an issue with warranty or legality although some dealers may give you a hard time as said.
A turbo-back is a different story as that does remove cats.
