yeah they won't warrantee it if it's only second gear. second gear is what you blow when you do stupid **** with your car. i've talked to dealerships about that kind of stuff and they've told me they'd not warrantee tranny work if it's second gear. they know what some people do with their cars. it's not like bringing in a ford escort with a f'ed gear box. "it broke sir. i dont know what happened. my poor festiva". lol good luck

What dealer told you that they wont warranty second gear? Thats really dumb if they said that! If the car is basically stock, and you're driving it around and if something breaks, they should warranty it. The big problem is this. Subaru advertises their cars as performance vehicles and if you drive it around stock and have some fun with it, your car should be fine. But then there are these people that go and mod the hell out of there cars and then when something breaks, put the stock parts back on and say that "its a manufacturer defect." I really dont care, if you screw the system and get away with it, more power to you. But what pisses me off, is what everyone else has been saying. People like you ruin it for all of us! I drive my car "spiritly", but I do it within reason. If something of mine broke, it would definitely be manufacturer defect. But if I was to go in and show them the problem, they would question me because of the morons that go and continue to put in false claims. I'm just sick of it all! Anyways, thats a long enough rant.

WrxDagger: Heres what you do. Lets say you fool subaru and they put a new tranny or a rebuilt one in. Once you put the mods back on, you're probably going to break it again. So save yourself a lot of headache and do what a few people mentioned and buy yourself a 6spd or a RA built out tranny. End of story!

I've spoken to a few tech guys myself. Generally when 2nd gear goes they know you've been mashing gears. Generally the gear that sees the most torque is 4th believe it or not. Hence when I had problems with my completely stock drive train...it was 4th. They fixed it no questions asked.

and SOA will warranty anything as long as they find it's not from abuse. Trust me...when you open up a tranny...you can tell.

No one is that dumb.
I think this is the real deal. I've met this dude at Kragen and spoke to him and he ran off all the mods that he did to his car.

This is prolly the worst place he could possibly think of to get that type of help. heh

You fool!

You know it isn't THAT hard for them to figure out who you are even though your screen name is different from the real name right?

First, they'll look for a car like yours that is being brought in for service on that parcticular problem. Then they'll match you to this screen name. Finally, OWNAGE!

Man, quit even trying to fool SOA...they have people on this site.

Here's a banana for you  ...do what comes naturally

Hmmmmm? Broken gears sounds like abuse to me.
Maybe you should think about investing in a dog box....
The trans is the last thing people think about upgrading.
If you want to race you better get some deep pockets to support paying for all your broken parts.

First off all you must not know very much about cars, otherwise you wouldn't claim exhaust/intercooler/intake is a heavily modified motor.....i mean he is probably seeing a good like 10-15whp from that??? yeah......haha heavily modified. Stick to your civic buddy. Second off you have no basis to say it was caused by hp breakage? ??? If you had a brain you might have noticed he said he was going 5mph when it broke.....hmmm.........
Subaru markets there car as a high performance racer, they give you an scca membership card with your car???? That speaks quite a bit for itself. So next time you want to rub one out for SOA do it privately.

First off,you must not have read the thread very well cause this guy had much more than just an exhaust, intake, and intercooler. His car was the same as a txs stage 4 just different parts. He drag raced it on top of that, nowhere in the scca have I ever seen a drag racing event. If you had a brain you would have taken the time to research something before continuing on to berate some one with more information on the situation than yourself. So it goes back to learn to take responsibility for your own actions(the broken tranny guy, not you).
