Sorry to hear you broke your tranny, but whatever happened to PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY for your actions??

I guess if Subaru denies your claim you can always try to lemon law your car... thanks to people like yourself the Impreza now tops the NHTSA's lemon list:

http://www.lemonlaw.com/lemonlist.html

Just a couple examples...

Make : SUBARU Model : IMPREZA Year : 2004
Manufacturer : SUBARU OF AMERICA, INC.
Crash : No Fire : No Number of Injuries: 0
ODI ID Number : 10078794 Date of Failure: May 11, 2004
VIN : Not Available
Component: POWER TRAIN:CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
Summary:
WAS AT THE LOCAL TRACK ON RUN WHAT YOU BRUNG NIGHT. LINED UP AGAINST AN SRT-4. LIGHT TURNED GREEN. I ACCELERATED TRYING TO GET A HOLESHOT. I HEARD A LOUD BANGING NOISE. SOUNDED LIKE THE TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH GIVING UP. THE SRT-4 WAS WAY AHEAD OF ME. I SHIFTED THROUGH THE GEARS AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CATCH UP. THAT SRT-4 WAS FAST. THE LACK OF POWER IN MY STI REALLY DISHONORED MY FAMILY. IT FORCED ME TO BE HUMILIATED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WAS NORMAL AND TO EXPECT TO BE OUTMATCHED BY CARS LIKE THE DODGE SRT-4. THEY NEVER DID TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH NOISE.*AK

Kinda funny that SOA and Subaru of Santa Cruz didn't ask one question when I brought my tranny in for servicing. Stuck syncro. Wonder if it has anything to do with me not abusing my car? hmm.

I had my synchro gears replaced under warranty by Subaru, but my car is nearly all stock, i.e. stock turbo, strut/sway bars added to stock suspension, etc. If this was a serious post, I have a feeling you're not going to get your car fixed for free. I don't mean to be a downer, but you built your car into a RACE car for the purpose of RACING and it will never be the same again. When people built up a Vette engine to 8 liters, Chevy won't warranty their car. That's why only folks with a large, steady income do that sort of stuff. Good luck just the same

ok, way to argue for no reason, we all no wrx tranny is a piece of ****.....don't have to be a dick......ill laugh if your tranny goes and you are in the same position. Subaru should put a better tranny, its an awd rally car and it has weaker transmission than a civic......

So why would you expect a 'known' weak tranny to put up with a heavily modified motor? And on top of that, why should SOA warranty brakeage caused by HP numbers way in excess of a stock motor? If the tranny brakes on a stock car, SOA better damn well fix it. But if the car is modified they share no responsiblity.

I used to have a stage 4 fmic turbo xs vf30.
This has got to be a setup. Someone from SOA is testing us or something.

No one is that dumb.

It's not a matter of whether or not you get caught. It's a matter of the fact that you ruin it for the rest of us. The more people that try and get SOA to fix something they broke with aftermarket parts, the fewer of those that have legitimate claims on STOCK cars will actually have it covered. Not trying to be a d1ck, but it's people like you that made subaru give me such a rediculously hard time with my claim on my stock car. You play, you pay. The end.
