I have a 2003 WRX with roughly about 16,500 miles on it. Recently on my way home from work I took off in first gear, shifted to second, and it sounded as if my trans fell out from underneith me. I had it towed to the dealer and they pulled it apart and found that all my teeth from second gear were gone. They are trying to get me to pay for some of it because they believe it was caused by racing and abuse. But when I asked if my clutch and flywheel were in tact, they said that they were perfect. All suby owners drive their cars hard every once in a while, I mean thats how they are advertized. You dont see mommy loading up the kids in the STi. Anyway, please respond if you have had any trouble, minor or major, with your trans. I would greatly appreciate it. Anything can help!!

 

The exact thing happened to me. I was turning and shifted into second while trying to get on to the 215 and pop the exact same thing happend. It is in the shop right now and they said that an inspecter is going to take a look at it and they will calll me back. My clutch to was in perfect working order. I did not abuse my car and if they say that I did I do plan on fighting it.

 

lol same here first second then BOOM.. i dont know how i did it i blew everything except 3rd gear. clutch and flywheel were shot. they denied me now my car is at MPJ getting the sti RA gearset put in . SOA can blow me.
