Thinking of making the move to Suby...

So I've been with Hondas for a good 2 years now, and since my DA is about to take a **** on me, it's new car time. I've been really eyeing bugeye wrxs, but problem is, id really rather my budget not exceed 13,000 for the purchase of a car. So I found one that looks pretty well cared for with 107k on the clock for around 12,000. My question is, how reliable is your Subaru? I've known nothing but Honda and I've rarely to never had to service any of mine, is this the same for Suby? Is 107k too many miles? Will the turbo feel gutless?

Give me some good advice as a noob that will persuade me to the AWD side :P
Thanks

you can find one better than $12k with 107k miles. I think theres a wagon for sale on the forums for $13

subarus are very reliable, but a lot depends on how the car was taken care of, how it was driven, and whatnot

Well I guess the reason for the high mileage and asking price is that he's done a few mods, which scares me away a bit, I'm hoping it doesn't mean he beat the **** out of it. Here's the list, in his words.

* STI Intercooler (Double size of the original)---$850
*HKS Electronic Valve Controller------------------$1000
*Apexi Super Air Flow Converter-------------------$500
*5 Zigen muffler----------------------------------$700
*Greddy Front Lip spoiler-------------------------$500
-made by URETHANE
*Real spoiler-------------------------------------$350
*Subaru Subwoofer---------------------------------$250
*Tilted windows ( all 5 windows)------------------$280
*Turbo Timer (turbo&Engine protector)-------------$120
## Total Upgrade---------------------------------------$4550

if he really got an STi intercooler for $850 he got ripped off....but about $500. everthing else is minor (lip is not made by urethane, it is made of urethane. What "rear spoiler" does it have? wrx or sti? oh yeah, what year/model are we talking about?

Here's the link, there's not too many in my area for the price range I'm in, this one doesn't look exactly how I'd do it, but I don't have too many choices.

eh, for an 02 with that many miles, $13 seems like a lot. If you have patience the perfect one for you will come along

I might be selling my 02 for around your price range, it was catless for about 2k miles, but now i have a 06 stock TurboBack exhaust put back on it. Drives beautiful, no gear problems or anything. About to throw some new tires on it too. Its completely in its stock form, WRB exterior, kartboy shortshifter +bushings, 75k miles....
