Exclamation Super cold + Turbo 2.5L + Purolator = Leak?

I posted a new page on our site>

WARNING Purolator L14612 oil filters leak in extreme cold temps

http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho...&threadid=3027

Can anyone confirm that this is an actual bulletin? I'm trying to find out.

There is a thread here too:

http://www.subaruforester.com/viewto...asc&highlight=

I would think if it happened to an XT 2.5L it would also happen to the STi and BAJA. Possibly the WRX too

Even though Purolator was the OEM supplier for the Impreza filters, I never use the ones that auto parts stores carry. Unless Purolator can tell me that what they market to third parties and what they manufacture for Subaru OEM are identical and not just up to "meeting OEM standards", I use what Subaru puts on their warranteed new vehicles.

Thanks for posting this, Peaty. I'll be following this thread for sure.
