Thumbs down Seems others go beyond the call of duty unlike SOA

My mother visited a week ago and i noticed her car was making a squeaking noise near the rear so i told her to get it looked at.

She took her Mercedes to the Von Housen Dealer here in sacto and they said she needed some grease on a rear bushing. They fixed that and did a number of other things SOA would NEVAR do for FREE!

Here's what they did:

They replaced the 10 disc changer because it was feeding slowly, the face of the stereo becasue it had wear on it, the Cat Converter, the 02 sensor, changed the oil, replaced the ATF and brake fluid & checked all fluids, they re-greased all the bushings and and replaced the u-joints. re-wrapped the steering wheel because of wear, rotated her tires, alignment and balance, re- finished and polished her wheels, changed her brake pads, turned the rotars etc. the list goes on and on.

Proof that you get what you pay for. I had to pull teeth with SOA to fix the damn floor mat pin. I am going to cash out my warranty ASAP because this is ridiculous!

I think that when I go in to get my drivers seat replaced, I will cash out my extended warranty too. It was like pulling teeth to get an OBVIOUSLY broken drivers seat fixed under warranty. It's just not worth the hassle.

How's your car feel following your installs at s^2?

I will agree that SOA is hard to get service from. But how many Subaru's could you have bought for that 1 Mercedes. 2 , 3? maybe 10 if its higher end AMG.

You could probably buy a new suby to fix the floor mat problem and still have paid less than your mother.

That's not exactly the point he was trying to make. And the amount of money spent on the vehicle should be inconsequential when it comes to getting legitimate warranty issues repaired.

Now, as far as all that extra free stuff - I wouldn't expect that, but I do expect my car to be fixed per the manuf. warranty, which Subaru so far has done very poorly with.

Do you mean SOA or your dealer? I've had nothing but excellent experiences with mine. In fact, I just had the front pads replaced under warranty with no questions asked. I also have 2 led's in my rear spoiler that went out and the "floor pin" issue. My dealer told me to just remind them the next time I bring it in so they can take care of it for me. .......all under warranty.

I think of it like this. If you go to a fancy restaurant where you pay $100 for your meal, you get awesome quick service. Someone is there to fill up your glass before you set it down on the table. If you go to a $20 restaurant, you get service but sometimes you have to ask for refills.

In the end, the food was good from either, but you got what you paid for from both. Yeah its a hassle sometimes and it shouldnt be, but the seat did get replaced after some tooth pulling.

But that's just it. It shouldn't be. I expect items with defects from the manufacturer to be replaced without any bs. I don't have the time or the patience to dick around with the dealer to get my car fixed per their warranty. I wouldn't expect them to polish my wheels, turn my rotors, get me a massage and hire a hooker, but those are all extras - not things they are to do contractually under the manufacturer warranty.

I am, and I think sisqocqk is referring to the extended warranty purchased in addition to the manufacturer warranty.

Heh...you can't really compare a Mercedes to a Subaru. Until you realize how much $$$ a dealership makes off a Mercedes compared to a Scoobie.

See you're wrong on that. here's why...

If im at denny's or a five star resturant i better get a refill on my drink ASAP or else. A warranty is a warranty is a warranty regardless of which car you buy, and yes im refering to the extended warranty. If i literally buy a piece of fresh dog sh*t and it's warrantied then it better stay brown and stink & steam. If i buy a rose and it's warrantied for 2 weeks then it better stay red and fragrant.

you get my point? i bought a contract. there should be NO QUESTION from SOA because im the paying customer and i like my coffee filled and hot! is that too much to ask!?

You keep referring to SOA. Did you have problems with SOA or has it been with the dealership?

SOA and the dealership are the same thing! When the 2nd baseman makes an error the whole team suffers and looks bad. When you ****-up at work they want to talk to your manager or boss, right!? Sh*t rolls down hill so SOA and the dealer are the same.
