i've got a few questions about this

i know that the 98 models did not come with the rear lsd, so my question on that is how much it would affect me.. is the rear lsd worth the price of putting it in, or can i manage? no lsd would result in what exactly? a little understeer and easy spinning out? i do plan on tracking the car some day(with a wrx swap), so is that power and lack of lsd going to be a disadvantage?

and also, i see that some 98 models have the big front foglights(like later rs models), while others have the tiny ones.. what's the deal with that? did the 98's not come with those big round lights?

I don't know much about the lsd, but i can tell you that with my almost stock engine, it's all i can do to spin the tires. I do not know, however, how much more power you would have to have, before you would get your tires squealing.

98's (my car) have a different front bumper/fog lights
