This is debatable, but I would change it as soon as I got home. I take it you have a brand new car? Change it as soon as you get home to get the dust, metal shavings, etc., from the motor build-up and seating of the piston rings. Some people argue that tolerances are so close now that none of this occurs, whatever, piece of mind and check for yourself. Then change it at 1,000 miles, then at 4,000 and from then on out every 3k-5k depending on your preference. This is just IMHO, everyone else has his or her own.

I changed mine after break-in (about 700 miles, I was lazy after 500) and then again every 3,000. Stick to dino oil for the first change to be on the safe side.
