Oil Leak after Oil Change from Turbo Area?
I just did an oil change on my car. Its a 2006 ej255 45k miles in a '98 body. I have a stage 2 tune with a Titek DP and HKS catback.
I just changed the oil, about 75 miles ago. Once the car is warmed up, I see a fair amount of white smoke coming up from under the hood vent and hood scoop. I went to check it out and it looks like it is coming from underneath the turbocharger. There is a fair amount of what looks like burnt oil on the upipe (stock) and part of the crossmember under that section has a little oil on it as well.
The only thing that has changed is that I switched from Castrol 5w-30 synthetic to Mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic because thats all the store had. Didn't think that would matter, I have no idea what to think though.
I took the intercooler off just to peer around and I can't see much oil buildup under the turbo, But i doubt it would stay for long being how hot it can get.
I checked the dipstick a couple times and it doesn't look like I've lost much if any oil, even though its clear there is oil leaking.
Could putting a little too much oil make this happen? I might have put a touch too much oil in there

What i would do is clean the area with some brake cleaner. then double check the turbo oil lines make sure the one on top is tight and the oil return hose is in good condition. then you should be able to spot where its coming from
you think you put too much oil in it? i thought you checked the dipstick. if its not more than half of an inch above the full line then it shouldnt be the problem.
the leak could be from the turbo seals...

You absolutely have an oil leak. It's probably not from the oilchange, as failures tend to happen when they want.
I'd bet it's a crack in the return feed hose putting oils onto the upipe since you dont have considerable oil loss, there's considerable white smoke, the upipie has oil on it, so
yeah sorry to hear

Qclean up the leak and check your lines for a leak. you might also want to check steering fluid lines. as those fluid lines also run under the turbo area.
