Oil Change
Oil Change
Hey all, I own a 2013 Crosstrek with automatic transmission and I'm wondering when I should change the oil. The owners manual says @ 7.5K but Subaru.com tells me 3.75K. Anybody have a definitive answer in this?...Thank you for your time...Cheers

Theoretically today's oil is capable of 7K, but I still change mine around 3000-4000. There is no definitive answer, so go with what you are comfortable with.

Depends on oil and capacity too. If it has a large enough capacity on the N/A motor and runs synthetic, 7K is likely not an issue. Dino oil, I'd stick with 3-4K. My E46 was 7qts and recommended 15K mi.

Also take into consideration whether you are doing stop and go driving with lots of short trips or if a lot of those miles are highway.
