negatives about '04 STi?
Hi am looking at purchasing either a new EVO or a new STi. I have some questions though about the STi. What are some of the negatives about the car. I heard that the tires generate a lot of noise and how is the ride? Thanks

The STi and the Evo are both highly tuned, street legal race cars. The ride is harsh in both of them, although the STi is more liveable in a day to day sense. A bit less harsh than the Evo. There is some tire noise because again, both the STi and Evo are basically race cars on the street. The STi uses what is basically race rubber for street tires, they supply an unbelievable amount of grip at the expense of ride and noise levels. That's not to say the tires are screaming loud, but they're not silent either.
And that pretty much covers the negatives. The STi is a car that you can fill up the tank, drive to the track and whoop some *** in, all stock. It's not a luxo cruiser, it's not a sporty economy car. It's an actual race car, detuned slightly for street use. That would be its biggest negative in my opinion, but then if that's not what you want out of a car, then you probably shouldn't be looking at the Evo or the STi.

I completely agree with Xaqtly! One big thing to add to that though, price. The STI goes for around $35000, while the EVOs are now high 20s. But when it comes down to it, I thinks its what you prefer that matters. The two cars are pretty much equal.
