need advice with a used WRX i found...
hey all,
found what seems like a really great deal on a wrx at a dealer near me. 2004 WRX, 5spd, boost guage, rear spoiler, sun roof, some other things as well. 1580 miles on it, for 21980. like i said its at a dealer, and im going to check the car fax tomorrow. if this car hasnt been in bad shape, im probably gonna buy it, since i cant find a deal like this.
now, the more prudent side of me says, look over the car with a fine tooth comb. i dont know much about scoobys, what should i look for in terms of something that might be causing this price to be incredibly low? (KBB put it at $26k).
your help is, as always appreciated

The mileage sets off a flag to me. Was this car a demo for the dealer, or is it pre-owned? Either way, the car was probably driven like hell (i.e. not broken in correctly) which could lead to problems much farther down the road.
I went through the same issue of new vs. used when I bought my 04 wagon. And I kept coming back to this: For a little bit more, you can get a brand new car rather than taking your chances with used. If you really want to save money on a used car, you should be looking at 2-3 or more years old. Good luck.

thx for the reply wagons...
this is what i know... the dealer claims the car wasnt a demo, i made sure to ask the dealer about that. the sales rep said that the car was sold, and then returned by the family of the owner, because the owner had passed away. dealer also claims no accidents.
now what could not breaking in a car correctly do to it down the road? ive never put much thought into it

well they say that every car should not be pushed right after being brand new. a friend pushed his 03 jetta and then it smelt like eggs for a month in the car. also wat about the turbo. major factor on the car. i would ask to see if they could do a compression test to the clinders. if they ant stock messurments, poss. she could have been beaten
