Nothing too surprising.....
This is a pretty common problem with most cars, especially with gear boxes that arent quite as nice as the car.....
I drove an Audi A4 before my XTerra, and both have issues selecting reverse. Especially when starting cold and/or trying to select reverse on a incline. like was said before, usually a couple pushes of the clutch or if you can get the car to roll an inch or two you should have no problems

hey, another thing...and i know that this has been brought up a bit on the other posts....i'm sure it's normal, but when you guys are downshifting into 2nd gear, do you guys get that loud engine sound?? like..it kinda sounds like a plane..lol...just wondering cuz i'm a noOby scooby owner & the cars i've had before never made such a loud sound...

yes it's normal for the "loud" sound. it's because your car is travelling at let's say...35 mph in 3rd gear and you downshift to 2nd gear. the rpms will naturally shoot up to about 4500 instead because of the shorter gear.

yea in my 04 have problems in the morning. i have heard that if you just let the gear oil warm up a bit then it is easier. thats what i have been doing, and its worked for me. my 2 cent

I agree, Double Clutch
Superdave17, has it and a few others have hit on it. Pushing the clutch in and out while in neutral will get every thing spinning a bit closer to the same speed. Works every time for me, even if I don't warm the Sube up enough in the ND winters it lives through. I do find that it grinds the smalles ammount when I D.C. in to reverse, though.
