Help, I have been ripped

Hello, first I need peoples opinion. Ok I was looking at a 04 sti at a local dealer and working numbers with a sales rep, the first day I was there I put a $100.00 deposit on the car (I have it in writing that they cannot sell the car while they have the deposit and if the deal fell through I would get my money back, I would get it back even if I bought the car). The problem is that today I called them and told them I was gonna buy it cuz I got the money I needed to put down, but they said they already sold it. Do you guys think I have some legal action to pursue and how would you go about doing it? Thanks all

I'm confused.

You say you put a $10k deposit down, then called later and said you had the money you needed to put down?

So did you put a deposit down already or not?

If so, and if you have it in writing saying they can't sell it, they're in the wrong. If they don't refund your money, contact your local BBB and get a lawyer.

hope this helps

I gave them one hundred bucks so they cannot sell the car, I had to get 2 thousand for cash down to get the car bought, but the 100 bucks is fully refundable and they cannot sell the car until I tell them I do not want the car and they refund me 100 dollar deposit, Does that explain it better.

If you have it in writing, take it to a lawyer and go give them a kick in the nickers .....

Did you get your $100 back? If so, I wouldn't waist your time with them. There not going to take the car away from whomever bought it so the best you can hope for is they can find another 04 STi and give you the same deal you had worked out. Since you've already found out their not the best buisness people I say take your hundered bucks and find a better dealer. If you didn't get you money back, then get a lawyer. Or threaten to call the BBB.

I got it..and sorry bout the 10k thing. I had just woke up when I read your post so I missed the decimal

well..hmm..I'm not sure what you can do to them. Least you got your money back. I would call BBB or complain to Subaru maybe? They probably won't do much for you though.. sorry, man.

Don't buy the 2004 STI. Buy an '05...only $1100 more list price but includes engine immobilizer, new wheels, am/fm premium stereo w/6disc in dash cd changer/ 6 speakers with upgraded speakers, limited slip front differential helical type, power steering oil cooler, under body cover, rear wheel arch protector body color. Not to mention how much more a 2005 is worth down the road compared to an '04.

I would go down there talke to th general manager as stated above and ask for a really good deal on a STi because they messed your first deal up.....ask them to take a 1,000 or 2,000 off lol.

If you were smart you would go down there or first call in an uproar telling you are getting your attorney and then force them to give you an 2005 sti for super cheap.

I have to diagree with that.

The stereo is not the only upgraded option for 2005 STI.

I recommend the 05' instead of the 04' models.
Why.....because of the new front LSD, automatic climate control,
cup holders in the rear, wider rear tracks, better location for
the DCCD controls and much more.
