Need help! Don't want to get ripped off for car repair

Hi all,

I rear-ended someone and need some body work done and probably a little work under the hood, although I don't think it's major b/c my radiator seems to still be working (not overheating). I took it to Nakamura's body shop in McCully and I think they might be trying to rip me off by quoting me $3K for repairs. I usually go to McCully Union Service and Charles is awesome, but he doesn't do any body work. Any recommendations for a trustworthy body shop would be great.

Thanks!

I was in my truck and i was hit at a stop light head on.. only damage was the bumper and the tow hook... It was almost 2k, all they had to do was change the bumper, and it didn't need paint it was a chrome bumper... Auto body repair isn't cheap

Actually i know of a few shops that do pretty good work and only a few of them i know personally. But really all depends on your location, what exactly you need done and your price range. If theres paint involved and you have a color that needs to be mixed and blended it will definately cost alot of money.

i hear there okay, theres okas in town, which i know chris down there he does some good work, maybe you should do that, pay the deductible and choose shop, and if you choose okas in town, ask for chris to work on your car.

EWA, Waipahu. Not Honolulu. Lol. A iclubber is the estimator. I have been twice and their work is amazing. Only place ill ever go on island.
I would seriously consider the deductible. Sure overtime if insurance goes up you may pay the same if not more but at least it's not upfront and you can get the repairs taken care of properly.

Waipahu is a different city than ewa lol. But there is amother one in town.

And Is that why theres always a forrestor parked out in that okas area? I always wonder whos forrestor is that, and i always thought the owner worked at CIGS.

Lol, yah that's my beater. I park in front of Sigs because the birds always crap on our side of the street...haha. To the OP, I'd be happy to write you up an estimate. We're pretty busy though and are booked for estimates right now until next Tuesday and are scheduling repairs the second week of August. Call me at the shop if you have any questions or need some advice. I'd be happy to help. #677-5474 and you can ask for Brandon.

Oh and thanks for the kind words Phil. We appreciate the business.

wait so you need some body work and a little work under the hood but you think $3k is too much? let's see, go call Servco and see how much a new bumper skin costs. you got fog lights, covers, grille damage, hood damage? well ask them about those parts as well. you'd be lucky if $3k was all it cost and it wasn't done with bubble gum and duct tape. if you are worried that there is anything wrong under the hood you should pay your deductible and leave the thinking to the professionals.
