Good or Bad for the breaking in period?

I don't know how well many of you guys know the streets of San Francisco California but they are not the greatest. I have about 280 miles on my 07 STi, about 160-170 are freeway miles with no stop and go traffic an another 110-120 miles done on the local streets of San Francisco. I probably drive the car 3-5 miles a day going to work and getting back home. I know when you break in the car you never really just want to stay at one gear for a real long time. On the freeway of course you get to 6th gear going about 65-90 miles an hour, on the local streets I usually get to 3rd or 4th gear going anywhere from 10-45 miles, and I don't know if local driving is good for the engine during the break in process, but I could be totally wrong. I just don't know what to do. I try to avoid hills as much as I can so I don't strain the engine when it comes to rev'ing the engine up trying to climb those San Francisco hills. People say you should baby your car for a good 500-750 miles and then start pushin the throttle a lil more here and there. During the 2-3 weeks I have owned the car I probably stalled 3-4 times due to not really paying attention when I drive and missed 1 or 2 gears when I was down shifting. I mean how bad can this really be on your engine and transmission? If you guys could put in some inputs of what you guys think or what you guys have done let me know. And maybe lemme know when I should start using the driving technique "driving it like you stole it."

Here is what I have done during the 2-3 weeks I have owned my 07 STi

- 280 total miles
- 160 to 170 freeway miles
- 110 to 120 local miles (3-5 miles a day average)
- rev'd to 6000 rpm maybe 2-3 times on the freeway, but never red lined
- stalled 3-4 times
- missed down shifting gears 1-3 times
- and boosting about 4400 RPM 6-8 times to feel all the torque

What do you guys think?

PS: If this is in the wrong forum section I am sorry.

I would leave it in gear and and engine break it down the hills. This will create a great vaccuum for the piston rings.
