Question fuel filter

I'm getting ready to change my fuel filter on my 02 wrx. any suggestions on removal? I'm assuming all I need to do is disconect the battery and then remove the filter with some rags to catch the spilt gas.

If you leave the engine off overnight, you'll get very little fuel coming out. Then just disconnect and remove. Is the '02 filter in the engine bay or in the tank?
