Fair price for swapped 2.5rs

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...ce=&cardist=75

What do you guys think would be a fair price to pay for this car? (im pretty sure the 25k is right, not the 90k) Assuming the condition to be between [ Good - Very good]. East Coast swappers performed the swap which is a good thing but, i still am unsure of how much this car is really worth. Thanks.

Is it a complete STi swap? What version? The brakes look like regular WRX 4 pots, unless they're powder coated Brembos.

The body has 90k miles on it, the engine has about 21k and the tranny has 9k on it. It is a complete STI swap from an 04' STI. Im not sure about the brakes. Hes asking 25k for the car but what would you guys pay if you were me?

If you guys look at the bottom of the description of the car you will see the price tag of $25,000. I am pretty sure of it.

Can't be Brembos as the stock 16s would not clear.

Wow. That's a damn good looking conversion.

Well, seeing as how a high quality '99 RS with typical miles with a good paint job would easily run you about $12K give or take.

Now the low-mileage (used) STi engine and tranny.. plus turbo, intercooler, piping, etc peripherials woud be about what.. $5K give or take?

Then figure in labor to do the swap.. possibly another $2K to $5K..

It all adds up to at least 20K probably more seeing all the love and attention put into the car.

All this being said I wouldn't pay more than maybe $15K for several reasons such as...

1) It's still a 99 and its market resale value will be set accordginly regardless of how much you "pimp" it up. See what happens if you EVER try to trade it in.

2) You can get a 2004 Sti with less than 20K miles for about $23K - its newer and cheaper. Hell you can get a low-mileage 2005 for less than 25K! (ebay item 300034118849) AND...

3) The 2004 / 2005 comes with a bumper-to-bumper warranty.

Case closed. But that's just me.

It's a '98 RS, not a '99. Says he did the bumper conversion. So even as nice as it is, it's a $10,000 car at best with a $7-8000 drivetrain. $15k is the most I would pay as well, and that's only because it's a clean, complete swap.

$15k at most... agree with the above
