Engine Oil Empty after 3833 miles, anyone?
I have a 2003 WRX, and I've always been changing the oil every 3k miles up till this time, I decide to change it at 4k miles. But out of curiosity, I went to check the oil level at lunch, and it's almost completely empty, I was surprised. It’s only been 3833 miles since the last oil change. I’m not aware of any obvious problems with the ride at this point, anyone know why or is this normal? Should I go ahead change the oil now or should I just put a couple of QTs in and wait till 4k to change the oil?
Thanks for any input.

Fill th eoil leve back up to the mark on the dipstick rigt now. Not tomorrow, not after dinner- the very next time you get in the car, go buy oil and pour it in until you have the 4.5 or 4.7 quarts you're supposed to have. But before you do that, make sure you didn't simply misread it by parking on an incline or not fully seating the dipstick.

off the oil.I had the same problem with my 04 WRX and everyone I
talked to about it didn't have a clue about how my engine almost
had no oil in it when it came time to do a oil change. My 04 WRX was
under a stiff 100K warranty and I took my car to my local Dealership.
After a few days of having my car they decided to install a brand new
engine in my car under the warranty. After the Dealership installed the
new engine my car didn't consume oil as bad. They said that my engine
was bad and that my piston rings were ruined. You should have your engine
checked out for sure.My advice is to change your oil every 2500-3000
miles and keep taps on your oil level don't let your engine run dry!
Also run a heavier weight oil than you are useing now and run only
dino or blend motor oil.I only used Castrol Syntec Blend 10W30 in my 04 WRX.

Please don't be insulted but did you look on both sides of the dipstick? If there's nothing on there you're out of oil. Also, spring for a full synthetic oil like Mobil 1 if you can. I have an STi that reads oil at the very bottom of the stick on one side and close to the maximum on the other after sitting all night.WTF? It happens, it sucks, but don't overfill.
