CEL removal

Hey all,

Got a question for you all. I'm trying to replace the O2 sensor on my exhaust but unable to loosen the nut that holds it there. I remember in Hawaii the guys used a cut-up bolt in order to get around to remove the bolt. I have a replacement to fix the CEL light; however, I can't get the stupid thing loose. Does anyone have one that I can buy or do you think automotive stores carry such a bolt? Any help with this would be great. Thanks.

It's not a separate bolt, it's part of the sensor itself. Any parts store should sell a special 02 sensor socket, which is a socket with a cutout for the wire to go through so you can place it over the sensor.
You can use penetrating lube such as PB Blaster to help loosen the sensor, they can be very tight and sometimes will come out cross-threaded. If that happens you may need to repair the threads in the exhaust before installing the new one.
