breakin for an automatic
I've been reading a lot about the 'breakin' period for the WRX, and was wondering whether it matters if the car is an automatic or a stick. I see a lot of posts referring to keeping it under 4k rpm (I also read that in the manual), but I find that it's not very hard to keep it under 4k rpm for automatics. I can go at 100mph and still be under 4k rpm. I know it's a lot easier to hit the 4k mark for manuals, so maybe that guideline is more geared toward manual trans?? Could someone tell me what to do for breakin for an automatic, if it's different than keeping it under 4k rpm (perhaps under a certain mph?)...thanks!!

Did you read the manual on this?
I would supect you just should avoid Wide Open Throttle, constant engine speed, and rapid acceleration during the first 1000 miles.
Don't worry, be happy.
