gotta wait for breakin?
I am going to get a black wrx a couple of weeks. I am already planning out the mods I am going to do now and the order. I was wondering if it is better to wait until the engine to break in and then start the engine mods or can you do it right out of the dealership? When did you guys start modding your wrx? Thanks for any info in advance.

i recommend breaking in your wrx for at least 1000 miles. Keeping the engine speeds below 4000 rpm and varying the speed, basically drive likea granny. This breaks in the piston rings, and some say can actually add power to your car. The peace of mind however is the biggest reason.

I harder break in will yield more power but you will lose some reliability. Your engine won't last as long if you do this. The easy break in will make your engine last a lot longer but you won't have the same power. The difference is very little as far as power output is concerned so I would do the easy break in so you won't have reliability issues early on.

Car Info: 2002 Sooby WRX (not runing right)
there will be no power diffrence except right after the break in naturaly the ECU will already be used to hard driving and have the ecu mapped for it, when you drive like a granny for 100 or so miles the car goes into an economy mode. the best thing to do is drive nice till 1000 miles then you just drive hard for about 150 miles or so and your engine will perform much better Scooby ECU's have a slight learning curve
