The higher the speed, the more fuel the engine uses. Greater wind resistance is the reason. The engine must produce more power to overcome resistance and more power requires more fuel. Above posted freeway speed limits, the power requirement increases exponentially rather than in a linear way. That's why vehicles at the Bonneville Salt Flats need so much top end horsepower. They might need an additional 50 horsepower just to increase speed from 200 mph to 220 mph.

If fuel economy is important to you, slow down and try to maintain a constant vehicle speed rather than getting hard on the throttle to pass slower traffic as quickly as possible.

I hope you get your car taken away. Stop driving 105 on the highway . Its drivers like you that make the rest of us look bad or become targets for police.

doing 105 on a public road is deserving of losing your car

especially when I pay so damn much for my insurance

might be a little harsh, but oh well. dont drive 105 and you will get good mileage. I have 300whp/300ft lb torque and average about 22mpg combined with spirited driving.

yup... all depends on how u drive... shift under 3000RPM and keep it under 75 on the freeway and you should easily get the 18/24 mpg

Don't drive so fast... I drive 65mp with 339whp and get close to 350mi before each fill up.
