buy the extended warranty cuz the salesman sounded so convincing that it's worth it but now regret it. added extra grand to get that but now i think its not worth it. should i get my money back?ill probably get a few hundred bucks back.

I got the extended warranty when i bought my 04. and about 6 months later decided that I will probably never use it and I had the "mod bug" hit me so i got a refund. But its up to you. Most people will probably tell you its a waste of money and to get your money back.

With the way SOA decides to discount warrenties i can't say that i'd get one either especially if you plan to mod it ever.

Consumer Reports, which has always had a soft spot for the WRX and STI (as a winner in their cost/performance ratio, I guess) has ALWAYS advised not to buy extended warranties for anything, as I recall. However, a friend of mine, who is decidely non-mechanical, buys cars coming off lease with the extended warranty and claims they have saved her K$$$ over the years. For me, NO WAY. I always try to make a list of every little thing that needs doing and get to the dealer just before warrany expiration, to get my money's worth.
