Abs Fluid Change Particulars ?

Abs Fluid Change Particulars ?
My bike has a linked ( but not ABS) system, and the fluid change out is a little laborious. My Outback is overdue - are there any tricks in the fluid change? Do you just bleed as usual and go find a slick spot to intentionally engage ABS to get the fresh stuff into the circuitry ? I've skimmed all of this forum and don't see it addressed. TIA.
