40,000 miles - 2004 WRX - Service?

I've got a 2004 WRX and I'm nearing 40,000k miles.

I've done nothing to the car since I've had it except wash it, change the oil and coolant. I checked my manual and warranty paperwork but I can't find anything about scheduled maintenance.

Can anyone here direct me to where I can find what service I should have done on my car? Or tell me what I should ask for from the local shop? I don't want to take it to Subaru for maintenance because frankly I think they rip you off. (I had a 2002 WRX before this one and had some issues with their service before.)

Anyway, any help on what service should be taken care of?

Thanks.

Here is the 30K maintenence with my suggestions:

Change oil (your choice)
Replace oil filter (oem)
Replace air filter (oem)
Change transmission fluid (non-synthetic 75w90)
Change rear differential fluid (redline synthetic)
Change coolant (use subaru coolant, or if you use something else make sure its 'phosphate' and 'silicate' free)
Change brake fluid

While you're at it you might as well change the spark plugs and fuel filter (oem). Its debateable when to do it (30K or 60K). But I changed mine at 45K and really noticed a difference, much smoother.

You should have gotten a maintenance booklet with the service schedule in your manual packet. If for some reason you don't have that you can go to the Subaru website and the schedules are posted there.
At 40K you are overdue for the 30K services so you should perform them as soon as possible. Do not neglect this if you plan to keep the car for a long time.
