30k tune up
hi got a noobish question, i've heard mixed answers bout this from people i've asked, but might as well ask a bunch of subaru drivers lol. i just reached my 30k limit and due for a tune up, do i have to dish out 600 bucks for it or is it covered in my 3 year 36k factory warranty....hopefully it is cuz i dont want to pay 600 bucks haha..i did a search on this and couldnt find anything helpful so i decided to post, any help is appreciated!
Routine maintenance is not covered under the standard warranty. However you don't have to pay $600 for it either. Look in the service schedule in your owners manual or on the Subaru website, see if you can perform any of the recommended services yourself, and for the rest get quotes from local independent shops who are familiar with Subarus. You can go to a dealer as well but they will usually charge more. Regardless of where you go for the service, have the official service schedule with you to avoid being charged for the typical unnecessary items that dealers and some shops like to tack on to make extra money (i.e. fuel, coolant and oil flushes that Subaru neither requires or recommends).

Yeah so does it matter if its done @ Subie? It'd be nice if we can we have one of our local Subie specialists do it and then just keep it documented "just in case".
