I like the '06. I didn't really care much for it until I saw it in person and had a chance to compare the front end of the '05 and the '06 directly next to each other. When sitting next to the '05, the '06 looks so much sleeker and much more aggressive.

I also really like the view out of the '06 more when sitting in it. It seems like the seats are lower and the view over the hood feels very "sports coupish." It's a shame that the hood scoop on the '06 isn't as large as the one on the '04s and '05s though.

I really like my '05, but I can't help but wishing that I had held out for an '06, even just because of the view out over the long hood and around the scoop.......

 

I almost got an 05 a couple o weeks ago, cuz I thought the 06 was fugly!!! That is until I, saw one in person. Needless to say, I bought the 06 the next day!

 

It's funny that A LOT of people feel the same way. I didn't like the '06 at all until I saw it in person.

It's amusing how so many people have negative things to say about the '06's front end, but then after a lot of people "warm up" to seeing them, they change their minds...

 

I actually really like the 06 too. It's always nice to have a 'brand new' car.

I say drive them both, see what you like and what you don't, what you can and can't live without.

 

I really didn't appreciate the sleek look of the'06's front end until I got to compare it side by side with my '05.

06 wrx/tr...meh
06 wrx wagon...awesome, would trade my bugeye if I could afford it
06 sti...pimp! Ive seen a few of them in person...def NOT fugly

'05 STI. they upgraded some stuff in the '05s. also, if you plan to mod the car..used would probably be the best option. i wouldn't worry too much about abuse on the drivetrain. a leak down and compression test would be ideal tho.

 

04/05 sti .................06 impreza lineup is just ugly

 

i was in ur shoes before, i picked the 06 wrx, but i kinda regret lol, cuz sti is still a sti is better than wrx for a reason =] but im happy with my 06 with the 2.5 tho its really improved from the 05 wrx =]

 

Just a couple months ago i had a chance to get an 04 sti for 24k or an 06 tr sedan...I chose the 06...I use to really hate on the 06s but it suddenly grew on me...after seeing how nice they could look with a bit of work...man they're sexy!! Though i do kinda miss the sti power...but i can make one =)

 

your money is all wrong. You may see it as somewhat equal, but then look at what u said u would do to the 06 wrx when u get it. That's at least another $3k+ into the wrx and then u may want to mod the suspension and whatnot...

But then again, if it was me, I like all my stuff new, so if I were in your shoes I'd probably go with the 06 wrx lol...or save up and get a new sti
